Once railroaded onto Louisiana’s death row, wrongfully convicted Virginia Man is asking for help

In 1987, two Roanoke, Virginia men, Michael Graham and Albert Burrell, traveled to Louisiana for a two-week search for construction work that turned into a 14-year living hell on Angola Prison’s death row.

Now, 22 years later, Graham needs our help.

While in Louisiana, law enforcement arrested Graham and Burrell for the murder of an elderly Downsville couple, William and Callie Frost. No physical evidence linked Graham or Burrell to the crime scene, and prosecutors intentionally withheld exculpatory evidence during the trial while calling three witnesses who later recanted their testimony.

The chief witness, an inmate named Olan Wayne Brantley, had a record of mental instability and was known in prison as “Lyin’ Wayne.” In a plea deal with the prosecution, he claimed Graham had confessed to the murders while they shared a cell.
